About 10 miles further East from Cashmere, surrounding the City of Wenatchee, are the dynamic Sage Hills. The hillsides provide incredible views of the Columbia River valley and offer over fifty miles of well-maintained trails. While the trails are great for day hikes and even horseback riding, they also provide some of the best mountain biking courses in the area. The hard-packed trails are an ideal biking surface, and a range of route difficulties means there is a great ride out there for every skill level.

Within a short drive from the bustling city of Wenatchee you’ll find the all-new Discovery Center at Rocky Reach Dam. This is a hands-on experience where you’ll interact with the exhibits. Explore an oversized fish viewing area and see huge salmon. Crank a turbine and create your own electricity, or enjoy their augmented reality app where you can swim with salmon. You can also test your skill at being a steamboat captain and try to steer your steamship down the mighty Columbia River.

The Rocky Reach Discovery Center is fun for all ages and a great place to learn about the history of the Columbia River and hydropower! Rocky Reach Discover Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m and admission is free of charge.
