Land Acknowledgement
This Land Acknowledgement was provided by the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.
“Visit Chelan County is located on the traditional homelands of the P’squosa (Wenatchi), at the place the P’squosa call Skwikwiast, which we call Wenatchee. The region has long been a center for Indigenous people to gather, trade, and maintain kinship ties. Members of the P’squosa community continue to contribute to the life of the Wenatchee Valley and to celebrate their heritage, practice traditions, and care for the land and waters. We acknowledge the traditional lands of the P’squosa, which we now occupy, and we recognize and are grateful to the P’squosa who laid the foundation for the City of Wenatchee, and for the diverse Indigenous peoples that reside in North Central Washington today.”
