Project Description

If you’re looking for a fun and exhilarating family-friendly zip lining experience, visit Leavenworth Zip Lines located in the evergreen forests of the Cascade Mountains. With 8 zip lines, 2 suspension bridges, and a double-decker platform perched nearly 200 feet above the valley floor, zip lining here provides thrills and excitement on a whole new level.

Leavenworth Zip Lines is one of the offerings at Mountain Springs Lodge located in Plain, WA just 14 miles from downtown Leavenworth, WA. The short drive north on Chumstick Highway from Highway 2 in town provides beautiful views of the eastern Cascade foothills and farm-rich countryside before going over a small pass and entering Plain.

Arrive at Mountain Springs Lodge and get a glimpse of the rich history dating back to 1895 when the owner’s great-grandfather, W.W. Burgess, bought the Beaver Valley from its first homesteader, John Mathews, who was a trapper who wanted out of his homesteader obligations. After checking in at the main lodge next to the duck ponds, you’ll follow your guides up to the Old Saw Mill which was the main source of lumber for many of the area’s earliest structures in the early-to-mid 1900’s. There, you’ll get all geared up with your harness, helmet, gloves, and cable trolleys, and go through a brief safety talk.

From the Mill, walk a couple hundred feet to the practice line that is only 7-8 feet off the ground. Here, the guides will demonstrate their communication signals for when the line is clear for take off, and how to launch, ride, and land safely. Then, it’s time to gain some altitude. Hike about 15 minutes up a series of switchbacks towards the top of the ridge. The course at Leavenworth Zip Lines follows a bell curve in that it starts out mellow and builds in intensity before slowly winding back down towards the end. From the moment you step on the platform for line number 2, you’ll mostly be high in the trees for the remainder of the adventure.

Zip line number 4 is the longest stretching from ridge to ridge at nearly 200 feet above the valley floor below. Soar past large pine trees and out into the open expanse between the two opposing ridgelines and over Beaver Creek far below. Be sure to keep your eyes open for this one and you’ll be rewarded with some of the best views from this one-of-a-kind perspective high above the tree tops.

Next time you’re in the area, head over to Leavenworth Zip Lines for a guaranteed high-flying good time! Zip on!
