About

About
Ludwig's is a German restaurant and biergarten on Front Street in the middle of Leavenworth. The kitchen is best known for Schweinshaxe, a pork hock prepared Bavarian style and slow cooked on a rotisserie, served with Bavarian potato salad, sauerkraut and braised red cabbage. The restaurant says it prepares more of them than any other restaurant west of Chicago.
The menu also covers schnitzels, sausage dishes, goulash, sauerbraten, cabbage rolls, kasespaetzle and house-made rye bread, plus burgers, sandwiches and salads for those who want something lighter. Platters sized for one, two, four or six make it easy to share. Apple strudel is the dessert to look for. German and regional beers are on tap, along with a short wine list and seasonal winter cocktails.
Polka nights are held on Saturdays. Ludwig's also offers private dining for special occasions and catering for events.
